Singing Dogs...

This so totally made my day. Not because I'm a Y&R fan but because growing up we had an awesome dog - Chapoo - that would sing along to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Talk about a show stopper. She was such a sweetie and this terrific clip made me think of her.
We all sure miss you dearly Poo!

Hell Hath No Fury...

like a Netflix Shipping Kafuffle! I admit it... I so totally take my Netflix for granted. For about the past 7 years I've just plucked those lovely little red envies out of my letterbox... never giving it another thought. Netflix Movies are like tap water to me - Something that's simply suppose to be there when I need it. I don't wanna know where it comes from or how it made its journey.

"If you ship it back, another will come" -- Talk about RUDE awakenings!
You simply cannot imagine the shock and horror that filled my head when I got the above email 3 - count'em THREE Whole days ago!! WTF? Has the world come to an end??
What'll I do! What'll I do! Bwahhahahahaha!
Sob, sob, sniffle, sniffle, sob. Please pass the tissues and the smelling salts.

Zap Xebra.... Zippy and Zaney

OMG! Couldn't you JUST Die!!??
I'm so stoked I might have ruptured a blood vessel...
with all the squealing and fainting and all.

Zap Xebra: Cost: $11,700. Charge time: 6 hours Range: 25 miles. Top speed: 40 mph. Technically speaking - the Xebra isn't a car. That's because it has only one front wheel, which makes it a motorcycle even though it can amazingly seat up to four. There's even a Rockin' CD player to boot.

I'm tellin' ya -- Whoa... Mamasita Liiiikes.

This kind of stuff just wets my whistle... what.can.I.say! It would be all kinds of Cool to cruise about town in one of these Bitchin' little humdingers. Giddyup!

Super Simple Patchwork Basket Tutorial

Adorable and Handy. You just can't beat that combo! This pattern is very simple and extremely similar to one of my most favorite bag patterns. Let's talk Easy Peasy and goes together in about an hour - or less. Easy to alter and fun to embellish the hell out of. I love to use a lot of my fancy machine stitches on either side of the checkerboard seams. Also a Terrific way to use up a lot of those scraps we've all got just lying about! Take a stroll over to Pink Penguin and get going on her amazing tutorial.

But be careful... this pattern is so delightful you won't be able to stop at just ONE!

Marvin Gaye Sings the National Anthem

Hands down the Very BEST rendition of the National Anthem (for the US) that I've EVER heard. Stunning.

Oh good heavens! Marvin Gaye truly was a Sensation.
Gifted beyond words. Taken too soon.
(I nabbed this awesome clip from my pal Tam)

Pure Crazy...

Okay... so here's the disclaimer: I'm a Huge! Animal lover. I've got 3 dogs, 3 cats, 3 turtles and 1 tortoise. I totally Get the love and connection you have with an animal.

I lost my beloved Nigel, a miniature Schnauzer, 5 years ago. I loved him like crazy. I think about him daily and miss him lots. I think about how much he loved children and how much he'd Adore my son [who's 2]. I'd give anything to have him back... but that's just not the way life works. So the story about a woman who had her dog, who had passed away, cloned just makes me want to scratch my head. The fact that she paid 50,000 Dollars to do so makes me feel queasy.

I totally understand the sentiment behind a gesture like this. I'd give my eye teeth to have my darling Nigel cloned. But here's the Rub: They cannot clone personality. Period. End of story. So you see, this woman now has FIVE dogs that will look just like her departed dog Booger [honestly that was his name] - however none of them will BE him. It would be heart wrenching for me to have a dog that looked just like my Nigel but didn't act a thing like him. Sure he was an adorable little bugger, but it was his personality that I loved. All his infamous quirks and imperfections - the life experiences that made him who he was.

It's pure crazy... baffling and confusing.

Adorable Options for Bandanna Fun

Bandanna Shorts -- Pure Genius!

This is such a Fantastic idea! So creative - which I love! - and a really terrific alternative for summer fun wear. I can just imagine how lightweight these must be & so wonderfully cool. I haven't had much [if any] time for sewing this summer... but these are moving to the top of the list. I mean shoot! They must take all of about 15 minutes to make! Awesome.

Along the same idea for a girl... leave out the inseam & just stitch 2 panels together for an adorable skirt. I have a friend who has girl boy twins - matching shorts & skirt for photos would be just too cute!

You can find this ingenious tutorial over at Blue Yonder blog. Do stop by for a visit :)

Flutterbys Collage O' Prints...

Here's a really super idea.

I've done something very similar by layering various sized circle punches - stunning results that looked a lot like a Stacked Circle quilt. Too Fun. Also did one using a cute overalls punch for a friend's nursery. Haven't seen the Butterfly punch before now... lovely. I'm thinking terrific for the guest bath OR perhaps the laundry room. I'm totally loving this.

Simple. Elegant. Easy! What could be better?

Two Yips and a Woof...er

[Edit: Please note... this post is in fun and not intended to be offensive.
I just thought it was a goofy take on sculpture.]

Are you bored with your current stereo speakers?
Do you want to go with something a bit more 'fetching'??
Something that's got a bit of a Bite?

Why not give these 'puppies' a go...

They're 'Woofers'... [Ahem]... Get it?
Personally I'm waiting to see what they've got in store for the Tweeters.
Paws to Claws they'll rock!

Click for Free... Help a Friend

Now read this ... and then please click and donate!

Hey! All you animal lovers out there.

The Animal Rescue Site
This is pretty simple... Please tell ten friends to tell ten today!

The Animal Rescue Site is such a terrific foundation! They have such a wonderful program to help support shelter animals. Although, lately they've been having trouble getting enough people to click daily in order to meet their quota of getting free food donated every day to abused and neglected animals. It takes all of a mere 15 seconds! to click on their site and click on the purple box 'fund food for animals' for free. It doesn't matter where you live... there are no global boundaries... everyone is invited to click daily to help.

This doesn't cost you a thing. Not One Single Cent. Nada. As in, you guessed it - FREE.
Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising.

So click on the link above for today. Then use the one I've got on my side bar tomorrow, and the day after that... and the day after that one. Grab a Button from their site & smack it up on your own side bar... They've also got a Ultra Hip Reminder link on their site you can sign up for - where you receive a little email each day to help you remember to click.
It's a cool thing to do and it's quick, simple and Free.
Go - Be Cool. The Fonz would so totally approve.

Please feel free to copy this post for yourself... Help spread the word ;)
